WAY confused about staffs now..PLEASE I need advice.. - Guild Wars Forums

Tried looking up this topic in the search engine..but kept getting WTS and WTB parts instead of info..but..anyways...

I wasn't always one to use staffs until I recently found I like using them for the dual mods they can have put on them like health enchantment etc. But, I also note, they can have the mods that reduce spell recharge and casting rate. Well, 20% being the highest one can have, I figured for ym blood necro I'd buy Kole's Torment. So I go do that. Then I get online to see if there wasn't something better I could get with the 20%/20% Mod instead of 10%/10% but the only one I could find was a collector's, so I got that one..even though it's not a unique skin, which I like :/. And then in Lion's arch, I see someone selling a 10/10 shadow staff. I had NOT heard of this before..I research it..find it's a unique skin.but..is 10/10 the best one can find on a gold staff???? If that's true..why would it be more to get a 10/10 gold than a collector's 20/20??? O-x I'm lost...can a gold have a 20/20..or is that just worth so much I'll never/haven't seen it before..Also..could I SEE a screenshot up close of a shadowstaff..I couldn't find one of that at all..I know about other skin types like mursaat etc...but never knew about shadow staffs..knew about ghostly though...But anyways..to surmise..is 10/10 the best a gold staff you find/ can get? And what's one worth with just the 10/10mod/max damage ONLY?? And am I better off just using my collector's staff instead for the 20/20..or should I hold out for a 10/10 gold..or 20/20 if that's possible...sorry my question seems to be dragging everywhere..

20/20 is the best for specific attributes

Staff color and type don't matter at all.

Some people spend crazy amounts of money on unique skin

Ah..yeah..I seem to have neglected the part of attributes being involved between the Kole's torment..which has none...and the collector's which reduces and recharges for blood skills solely..so..I'm guessing then it's possible for me to go out asking.. "WTB a 20/20 Blood skills, Req. 9-10 Blood Magic, Max Damage, Energy +10 Shadowstaff"?? O-x..ehh..how much would just that set me back(sorry that sounds like a Looking to buy thread..)..and can someone show me a screeney PLEASE *with a cherry on top?* of this coveted Shadowstaff

If it looks good, I might want to go for what I just said instead, before I go modding my 20/20 blood collector's >>

You can get a lot of ideas and info by looking through the auction site. Personally, I prefer collector's items, but that's just me. I've also found it more versatile to use rods/wands and focii. That way I can mix and match for the occasion.

As per your question: I don't think you can find a staff with a 20/20 mod unless it's a collector item, but I could be wrong.

You could find a 20/20 gold staff but to find one that was blood req and have both 20% blood bonuses would be very rare and indeed cost you alot to get it and by alot I mean several 100s of plat. But that may be a low estimate

The collectors are there to provide good stuff that everyone is able to get and the other high end stuff is for people who merely enjoy having something that not everyone else has.

Just go with the collector's staffs.

I usually charge 2K to fetch them for people, and that's a price along the lines of the aprocryphal plumber's bill
